How did you become involved in work at a tattoo shop?
I have always appreciated body modifications and piercings, even when I was young. This drew me in to the tattoo realm, and I found a new appreciation for the unique art style that tattooing is. When I came of age to start receiving my own work, both piercings and tattoos, I was very excited and loved the environment. I started working at Breakthrough in November of 2017.

What is your craziest story at the shop?
It was just a normal Saturday – Joe was meeting with his first client. It was a soft-spoken guy that came in. He asked about having a guest spot as an artist at Breakthrough. Came out that he was an artist that Joe really looked up to and held in high regard. It was exciting to meet such a reputable artist and influence of someone in the shop. Every day is honestly fun and funny in its own way.

What is your favorite tattoo?
My favorite tattoo is Butthead from Beavis and Butthead, where he is eating a peyote cactus and tripping from it. I got it with my brother – he has Beavis because he is the Beavis to my Butthead. I also have the brave little toaster on my butt – it was a dare that I lost!
